What Are Facial Fillers?

Facial fillers like Juvederm and Restylane are non-surgical treatments designed to achieve the following:

  • Replacement of lost volume in the soft tissue
  • Raising of depressions caused by scars
  • Enhancement and augmentation of the lips

Depending on the specific type of filler, it may be composed of hyaluronic acid, collagen or calcium hydroxyl apatite. Using a thin needle, our aesthetic team will inject the facial filler into a targeted area beneath your skin.

Facial fillers are temporary, but generally last a few to several months before re-treatment is needed. Because they are non-surgical, a recovery phase is not involved, and you should be able to get back to all of your normal activities quickly. By restoring lost volume, facial fillers make your skin look smoother and more youthful. Facial fillers can soften the appearance of many different types of wrinkles on your face. A consultation is needed to determine the right treatment plan for your goals.
