Eyelid surgery or Blepharoplasty

A blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the eyelids. With normal aging, the upper and lower eyelids can sag, become puffy, or become more prominent, all leading to an aged or “tired” appearance. A blepharoplasty removes the excess skin or fat that is causing this appearance to produce a refreshed or more vibrant appearance. Patients who undergo this surgery often notice a dramatic improvement in appearance. Either alone or in combination with other procedures such as a facelift, an eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty can provide a younger and more vibrant appearance to the entire face.

What types of eyelid surgery does Dr. Gonyon perform?

Dr. Gonyon performs surgery of both the upper and lower eyelids. During your consultation, he will determine if the underlying cause to the appearance to your eyelids is from excess skin, excess fat, weak strength of the underlying structures, or a combination of these factors. Options may include a relatively simple excision of skin to a complete reshaping of the skin, fat, and structural components.
