Browlift

Introduction:

A browlift is a surgical procedure to improve the appearance of the forehead and the position of the eyebrows. Often the “tired” appearance that patient’s notice is not only the result of excess skin of the eyelids, but also from descent of the eyebrows. Either alone or in combination with other procedures such as a facelift, a browlift provides a younger and more vibrant appearance to the forehead, eyebrows, and upper eyelids.

What types of browlift does Dr. Gonyon perform?

Dr. Gonyon performs both endoscopic (minimally invasive or short scar) and a traditional open browlift. These procedures can both be effective when correctly applied.

What is the right facelift procedure for me?

During your consultation with Dr. Gonyon, he will discuss with you what your goals are for improvement and then recommend the appropriate procedure to provide the type of result you are looking for. In general, the greater degree of aging of the forehead, the lower the eyebrow, or the more excess skin of the upper eyelids that is present, the more likely a patient will need an open browlift to provide the improvement they are seeking.

There are trade-offs when choosing one technique over the other and Dr. Gonyon will discuss the issues that are specific to your face during your consultation. Dr. Gonyon will also discuss other areas of the face such as the face, eyelids, lips, and cheeks and how to obtain a harmonious result by treating the entire face. Some of the procedures that Dr. Gonyon performs for facial rejuvenation include:

  • Deep-plane facelift
  • SMAS placation facelift
  • Mini-facelift
  • Necklift
  • Browlift
  • Autologous fat injection (using your own fat to sculpt and rejuvenate the face)
  • Pro-fractional Laser skin resurfacing
  • Skin-Tyte Infrared skin tightening
  • Botox
  • Soft tissue fillers including Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, and Hyalform
