What is breast reduction?
Breast reduction is a plastic surgery procedure designed to reduce the size of your breasts or make your breasts symmetrical and proportionate with your body.
Am I a candidate for breast reduction?
If you believe your breasts appear too big or pendulous for your build, or if you are suffering back, neck or shoulder pain caused by overly heavy breasts, you may be a candidate for breast reduction. Your personal consultation with board-certified Northern Colorado plastic surgeon Dr. Denis Gonyon will determine if breast reduction is the right procedure for you.
What are the benefits of breast reduction?
If you have overly large breasts, a breast reduction can help breasts become more proportionate with your frame as well as relieve back pain, neck pain, shoulder discomfort, skin irritation and posture issues often associated with larger, heavier breasts.
Should I also have a breast lift with a breast reduction?
For many women, a breast lift is a complementary procedure to a breast reduction, and often times is included when your breast reduction is performed. A breast reduction will remove excess tissue and provide symmetry, while a breast lift can give your breasts a higher position and more youthful profile.
Is breast reduction only for women?
No. Many men suffer from a condition known as gynecomastia, which results in enlarged breasts. Male breast reduction is an effective and increasingly popular plastic surgery procedure for men who experience overdevelopment of the mammary glands.
